How to Promote Affiliate Products Using Free Blogs
When you’re starting out, simple things like designing a web site can be a chore to learn.
That’s why, as an affiliate you may want to start out with BLOGS.
The big reason to use blogs is that you don’t have to learn a lot about web design to use them. Blogs are a bread-and-butter tool you need to use as an affiliate marketer.
1. You can set up your blogs over on blogger.com for FREE.
And the promotion is relatively simple. You come up with your list of keyword phrases and once a day or once every few days, you write a post on one of those keyword phrases.
If you write full-blown articles, you can submit those articles to article directories like ezinearticles.com. Or use one of the article submission tools to do it for you.
The title of your post should be the same as the keyword phrase you’re targeting. So, to give you an example, if your keyword phrase is “how to write marketing letters”, that would also be the title of your article or post.
Blogger is a really simple tool to get started with. Some people claim that since it’s owned by Google, you’ll get better positioning in Google with Blogger blogs.
2. If you have your own hosting, you can set up your blogs using WordPress.
WordPress installs on your own hosting account. You have total control over it. Which is an advantage compared to Blogger. I recommend you use WordPress blogs as soon as you can. But if you’re starting out with a skinny rabbit budget, you obviously need to go with Blogger.
a. There’s almost no learning curve
b. You can set up as many blogs on as many topics as you want without paying extra money
c. Maybe you do get a little boost in rankings from Google, although I don’t know on that one.
The key things you need in your blog are UNIQUE content that is frequently updated. A lot of people sell systems where you grab PLR (private label rights) content and have it automatically posted to your blog. That all sounds well and good. And I’m sure some people sell products doing that.
But I recommend you do things the old-fashioned way and write your blogs yourself. Why? Because human beings read them. And you’re trying to build your list and develop a following.
A lot of people approach a blog as pure seo, or search engine optimization. Their only goal is to get traffic from Google. I think you want your blogs to develop a following and build your list. That means:
Step one: Target your blogs to specific topics
You can have a blog about list building, a blog about product creation, a blog for newbies, a blog for products about audio and video.
Step two: Include audio that you create and even video.
The great thing about youtube is you can add those videos to your blog. So if you find a good video on a topic related to your blog, post it.
You can also use the new Flip camera to easily shoot video and add it to Youtube! The camera comes with a built in USB plug in. So you shoot the video and pop it right into your computer, then upload to youtube. Of course, if you’re starting out on a skinny rabbit, budget, you don’t need to do that. Just post other people’s Youtube videos.
Anyway, that’s all for this article. I hope I’ve turned you onto the idea of starting your own blogs to promote your affiliate products.
You aren’t going to make a million dollars doing this. But you’re going to learn some good promotional skills and build your business one step at a time. This is a baby step. But it’s a good one to take.
